The Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA) – formerly known as Malaysian Institute of Maritime Affairs – is a policy research institute established by the Malaysian Government to address issues related to Malaysia’s interests at sea and to act as a central hub for research in the maritime sector. Founded in 1993, MIMA was established under the Companies Act 1965 as a company limited by guarantee, with its own Board of Directors.
