FIDENA is a Mexican federal trust dedicated to the education and training of merchant marine personnel, headquartered in the Condesa district of Mexico City. Originally established in 1972 to restructure the country's nautical schools, it adopted its current name and mandate in 1980 and now operates under the Secretaría de Marina.

The organization oversees Escuelas Náuticas Mercantes in Tampico, Mazatlán and Veracruz, along with a nautical education center in Campeche, offering degree programs in Piloto Naval and Maquinista Naval. These programs prepare officers and crew for work aboard merchant vessels, in port facilities and across the maritime-logistics sector.

Beyond initial degree training, FIDENA provides updating and specialization courses for merchant marine officers and ratings, including certification aligned with STCW convention standards. Its programs also serve personnel working in offshore oil operations in the Gulf of Mexico.
