From its origins in 1892 as Fleetwood's School for Fishermen, Fleetwood Nautical Campus is a UK maritime academy which is part of Blackpool and the Fylde College. The college in is Fleetwood, Lancashire and provides maritime education and training for the British Merchant Navy. We offer a wide range of maritime education and training including pathways from level 3 cadetship preparation qualifications, through officer cadetships and degree pathways in nautical science (deck), marine engineering and electro-technical disciplines, as well as preparation for senior officer certificates of competency. There are blended (distance learning) routes available for some qualifications via our Blended Learning Team. Fleetwood Nautical Campus is also a leading provider of training for maritime apprenticeships. The practical safety and survival training that forms part of these programmes is delivered by Fleetwood Offshore Survival Centre (FOSC). FNC and FOSC are co-located on a bespoke campus. Fleetwood Nautical Campus delivers a range of education and training programmes to Merchant Navy cadets and experienced seafarers across the nautical science (deck), marine engineering and electro-technical disciplines: *From September 2024, Fleetwood Nautical Campus will be offering the following degree courses: Honours Cadets from Fleetwood Nautical Campus have won the Maritime and Coastguard Agency Officer Trainee of the Year award ten times in 17 years. Industry partners Fleetwood Nautical Campus works closely with its shipping/training company partners in delivering cadetship training.
