Introducing NPSLLimited: NP (SL) has a rich history dating back to 1954 when British Petroleum acquired 100% equity from Atlantic West African Oil Company, previously managed by Paterson Zochhonis. British Petroleum acquired AGIP's shares in 1977 and operated until June 1984. The Government of Sierra Leone then acquired 60% shares from British Petroleum Sierra Leone Ltd., forming the new company Sierra Leone National Petroleum Company. In late 1984, British Petroleum Sierra Leone Ltd. sold their remaining 40% of the company’s equity to the Precious Minerals and Mining Company, an indigenous company in Sierra Leone.
