Keystone Shipping Company is a U.S.-owned marine transportation operator based in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. Founded over a century ago by Charles Kurz, the company remains under Kurz family leadership and provides waterborne transport of liquid, dry bulk and roll-on/roll-off cargoes under the U.S. flag. The company operates across deep-sea, coastwise, inland and Great Lakes trades, carrying cargoes such as crude oil, petroleum products, iron ore, aggregates and military equipment. Its Key Lakes subsidiary manages a fleet of vessels on the Great Lakes, and Keystone also manages roll-on/roll-off vessels supporting U.S. Maritime Administration emergency response operations. Keystone's services include fleet operations, technical and safety management, chartering, marine personnel management, and vessel construction and retrofit supervision. The company employs both seagoing and shoreside staff and maintains affiliations with various maritime industry boards and committees.
