Founded over a century ago by Charles Kurz, the company remains under Kurz family leadership and provides waterborne transport of liquid, dry bulk and roll-on/roll-off cargoes under the U.S. flag. The company operates across deep-sea, coastwise, inland and Great Lakes trades, carrying cargoes such as crude oil, petroleum products, iron ore, aggregates and military equipment. Its Key Lakes subsidiary manages a fleet of vessels on the Great Lakes, and Keystone also manages roll-on/roll-off vessels supporting U.S. Maritime Administration emergency response operations. Keystone's services include fleet operations, technical and safety management, chartering, marine personnel management, and vessel construction and retrofit supervision.
