VSTEP, based in Rotterdam, develops maritime simulation systems used for training and assessment of seafarers. Its NAUTIS platform, launched in 2008, provides bridge and ship handling simulation that is DNV-certified and designed to meet current IMO requirements. The company's product range covers navigation, inland waterway, towage, naval and fishing training scenarios, supporting maritime academies, training centers and operators such as tug companies in preparing crews for real-world ship handling situations. In addition to professional simulators, VSTEP offers portable simulator units and a home version, NAUTIS Home, allowing individual users and enthusiasts to practice ship handling on a personal computer.
